Welcome to my new Guest Author Page, where I introduce you to talented authors you may not be aware of.
The majority of these authors are Indie-Self Published authors. Note that this does not in any way mean they are not as talented as traditionally published authors. They just don’t get the advertising and brand recognition as say Stephen King.
The following genres are represented: ChicLit/Romcom, Sci-Fi, Dark humour, thriller, dystopian, coming of age, fantasy, poetry, shorts, Middle grade fantasy, Kids’ adventure/fantasy, Action/adventure GameLit, picture book, genre crossing FF romance/suspense thriller, adventure fantasy 10-12 yr old, Non-Fiction and even one that is no traditional genre.
Please enjoy their books and support them! Feel free to engage with them on Twitter.
I will start this review by admitting that I am not really a fan of ChicLit, nor romance. I did however want to branch out a little from my usual fare. So based on a recommendation I read this book. Although I am still not necessarily a fan of this genre, I actually enjoyed this book. The characters were believable and come to life as the story progresses. As for the tale itself, the pace is more than sufficient to keep the reader engaged and wanting to find out what happens.
Even if you are not into time travel books, this book enjoyable, and easy to follow. The main character is likeable, and yet at the same time frustrating. He is a bit of a goof, and comes off as self centered, yet he strives to do what is right, and his goofiness makes him endearing. The author is able to pull this off, as he has much experience in the type of environment that the main character lives in.
At times it sinks into the inevitable explanations of why time travel works and the things it can and can’t do, yet does so in a way that is easy to understand, or at least with a bit of humor as the main character is totally lost in the explanations, making the reader feel fine for not understanding everything.
The action is well paced, and the ending leaves you wanting more.
An eclectic mix of stories that are sure to fascinate and enthrall.
Although not usually much into short stories, I decided to give this a try one day when I wanted something different to read. I wasn’t disappointed.
Each story was different from the others, varying from the almost normal, to the totally fantastical.
And yes, some of the characters really are crazy!
What also grabbed my interest, is that many of the stories took place in my home town, as well as in other places I have been to.
When I had read the last story, I found that I wanted more.
An interesting story. When I started reading this, I was a little confused at first, thinking that maybe I needed to read a previous book to understand the world this book took place in, especially since I have not read much in the way of dystopia literature. But as I continued reading, I realized that the world was being built around me as I read.
The characters became more believable, while still being outlandish, the further into the book I got. It was not long before I was completely hooked.
A dystopian world full of unusual and fascinating characters. A main character given wrong information and wrong directions. Surrounded by people that either won’t help, or will work against him. Rules that constantly change. What could go wrong? For the protagonist, everything. For the reader nothing except an entertaining time, and a period of escape from the real world.
Fully enjoyable.
Finished reading this middle grade book, and what a delight. Ok I am not a middle grader, but having raised four children of my own, and now have two grandchildren, so I have a good idea of what would interest them, and this book surely is it.
It has everything a middle grader or younger would love. Orphans, Magic, interesting creatures, trials, tribulations, and of course children that are heroes.
It starts when one of the orphans ‘accidently’ rescues Lucky, a living diamond from a land far away. But this rescue leaves herself, her three sisters and her brother in mortal danger, as the evil creature that is after the diamond will eliminate anyone that gets in its way.
They must flee their home and travel through strange and dangerous lands, to return Lucky to her home. Along the way they have many adventures, and when they arrive at the home of the diamonds, they must help them defeat an evil witch that threatens all the lands.
For adults the story might appear a little unbelievable, but for the age group it is written for, it should capture their imaginations and interest.

Not just for fans of GameLit
I usually avoid GameLit literature but decided to give this a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. It did take me a while though to actually like the main character, however as the book moved along he came to grow on me. I would recommend this book even for those that usually do not read dystopian or GameLit literature.
I read over 50 books last year, but this book has to be at the top of list of my favorite reads.
Looking for a suspenseful thriller that will keep you locked into it from beginning to end? Then this is the book for you.
I had wanted something a bit different from my usual reading habit of sci-fi, fantasy and horror. I like books that have international intrigue as well as stories with a protagonist that wants to do what they think is right, but makes mistakes along the way. Protagonists that had to live through much difficulty to find out who they truly are.
This book has all this and much more. From the first page I came to like the main character, with her faults and her never quit attitude.
The action spans different places and time frames, but never leaves you confused as to what is happening, while leaving you guessing about what will happen next.
I don’t want to talk to much further and give away the story, just want to say that it came to a satisfactory and timely conclusion.
A must on your reading list. I highly recommend it.
Fans of fantasy will really enjoy this book. In a land with unusual wild creatures and differing civilizations, we find a people that are literally a contradiction. How can Dwarfs be Giants? When you have an imagination like Steven Jacklin and an excellent story writing ability, anything is possible.
To tell too much of the story would ruin the plot, but if you enjoy monsters, evil queens, and a land where the various groups of people look completely different, yet share much in common, then you will love this book.
